The Chocoholic’s Survival Guide
and Practical Handbook

Anne Isham is a philosopher, storyteller and adventurer. She is an independent chocolatier whose goal is optimal health and fitness for her readers. Anne is a graduate of Ecole Chocolat, Professional School of Chocolate Arts in Vancouver, B.C. and founding president of the Texas Association of Fine Chocolate. Anne also authored SportsFood: A Cookbook and Nutrition Guide for Endurance Athletes.

Eat Chocolate, Lose Weight is more than a diet book, more than a cookbook, more even than a complete chocolate lifestyle book—more, more, more! Between these covers you’ll find the author provides a practical blend of chocolate nutrition, humor, history, and insights into chocolate as the roadmap to inner peace. Most importantly, it includes Isham’s Eleven Step Program for the Chocolate Life. Recipes are rated with the Chocomonkie Chocolate Frequency Indulgence Guide, to help the reader sort daily chocolate from once-a-decade extravaganzas. Available at independent bookstores, or on line at www.powells.com or www.chocosphere.com.

The newly revised and expanded Eat (More) Chocolate- Lose Weight (Anyway): The Chocoholic’s Survival Guide and Practical Handbook is every bit as entertaining as it is informative.  Isham details in a very upbeat style all the facts about chocolate as well as her philosophical take on its use as a healthful food as well as both the means of and the reason for celebration.  New in this edition are several health conscious recipes such as Date Fudge, Chocolate Bottom Pumpkin Custard, and very nutritious Chocolate Gingerbread People; and an entirely new section: Chocolate for Children. The very practical and helpful Eleven Step Program for the Chocolate Life remains essentially the same; a detailed guide to healthy weight control that allows for chocolate indulgence.

Anne’s goal is to influence her readers to seek the better quality of chocolate and to enable them to them distinguish chocolate as nutritious food from celebratory chocolate confections; to become educated consumers of chocolate and everything else we eat; and to learn to balance level of activity with eating habits.  In her own words: “If you eat like a farm hand and live like a Chinese Empress, you can’t expect to look like Scarlett Johansson.”
